WARREN - A city man who told police he was shot in shoulder by a person he never saw Monday afternoon was treated for his wound at a local hospital, a police report states.
John Patterson, 52, of Comstock Street N.W., told officers that he and another man were loading a television onto a vehicle at 147 Comstock St. N.W. about 3:40 p.m.
Patterson said that at one point, he realized he had been shot, police said.
Meanwhile, another report states that two men were shooting at each other on Idylwild Street, the first parallel street south of Comstock, and that a bystander was hit. The bystander was wounded in the shoulder and taken to the hospital for treatment, according to WYTV 33 News.
No other injuries were reported.
Police told the Tribune Chronicle that some of the details remained sketchy Monday night.
However, witnesses said they heard shots but thought they were fireworks.
Police did not identify the other man or any of the witnesses. They said detectives from the Warren Police Department are looking into the shooting.
Patterson was treated at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Information about his condition was not available Monday night.
