WARREN - Walter D. Ogrean Sr., 90, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Hospice House in Poland.
Walter was born May 17, 1922, in Warren, the son of Daniel and Sadie Muntean Ogrean.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theatre, including Guadalcanal.

Together again
Walter retired from the Warren City Fire Department.
He enjoyed the singing of barbershoppers and sang in the Stephen Foster Chorus.
Walter's wife, Helen S. Mucho Ogrean, passed away Aug. 20, 2001.
Walter leaves his loving family, a daughter, Debbie A. (Jim) Nicolaus of Warren; a sister, Virginia Boyles of Warren; two grandchildren, Christy Ogrean and Theodore Ogrean Jr.; and six great-grandchildren, Hannah Ogrean, Katie Ogrean, Riley Ogrean, Colin Ogrean, Isabella Pallotta and Nina Pallotta.
In addition to his wife and parents, Walter was preceded in death by two sons, Walter D. Ogrean Jr. and Theodore Ogrean Sr.; a daughter, Sandy Ogrean; and four sisters, Anna Finta, Sarah Pope, Dorothy Edl and Patricia Cabuz.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home. A military honor guard service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at Pineview Memorial Park.
