YOUNGSTOWN - Catherine Murray Wallace, 94, formerly of Girard, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 20, 2012, at Omni Manor Care Center.
Catherine was born Feb. 14, 1918, in Niles, the third of six children born to George and Euphemia Sterling Murray.
Catherine attended nursing school in Barberton and Akron, and received her LPN from the Akron School of Practical Nursing in 1956. She practiced nursing from the 1950s until she retired in 1983. Her nursing career began at Akron City Hospital and then she was a private duty nurse in Columbus and later at Worthington Hospital. After moving to Girard in 1958, she worked a short time at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gillette Nursing Home, as a private duty nurse, and then at Warren General Hospital.

She became one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1964, and after retirement she became a full-time pioneer minister, serving in that capacity for many years. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses, Youngstown North Congregation.
Catherine enjoyed painting, crocheting and roller skating for many years.
Catherine leaves two daughters, Judith Lynn (Joseph) Sabatino and Kathleen Alice (Louis) LoVerde; six grandchildren, Christine Ann (Edward) Elks, Tobiah Joseph Sabatino, Peter James (Rebecca) Sabatino, Andrea Lynn (Daniel) Delong, Alene Marjorie Delong and Dannielle Alise (Shannon) Adams; 10 great-grandchildren, Kenan, Couin, Harper, Kayla, Jade, Aidan, Alexander, James, Elijah and Tia; and a great-grandchild on the way; and a sister, Dorothy Thompson of Howland.
She was preceded in death by great-grandson, Liam, and by her siblings, George Murray, Margaret Ainsworth, Christine Minnotti, and May Sunderman.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service which will take place at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 30, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Youngstown North Congregation, 276 Jacobs Road, Hubbard.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
