BRISTOLVILLE - Lewis "Lew" E. Thomas, 75, of Bristolville, died Thursday, June 21, 2012, at his residence.
He was born May 3, 1937, in Warren, a son of the late Ephraim Thomas and the late Florence Mae Callihan Thomas.
He was a graduate of Howland High School and worked at Packard Electric for 30 years until his retirement and then at Bristolwood Golf Course.
Lew enjoyed playing golf, bowling and was a people person who especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved animals, especially his cat Mags, who was his constant companion. He also volunteered at the Animal Welfare League.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Ruth Ann Thomas of Bristolville; his sons, Dennis (Irene) Thomas of Elbridge, N.Y., and Mark Thomas of Largo, Fla.; his sister, Pauline (William) Ferry; and grandchildren Heather Lyn, Jackilyn Ann, John Paul, Joshua Allen, Jack Michael and Marketta Grace Thomas.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Thomas.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor Jim Dittmar will officiate. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Sager Memorial Park.
