WARREN - Charles H. Downes Sr., 68, of Warren, died at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Charles was born June 29, 1943, in Olympia, Wash., the son of Charles H. and Ethel Christy Downes.
He was a handyman for 30 years and was of the Christian faith.
He is survived by his sons, Charles H. Downes Jr. of Warren, Daniel P. Downes of Warren, Thomas S. Downes of Watervliet, N.Y., and Christopher Downes of Stanford, Vt.; daughters, April M. Downes of Boardman, Cathy Downes of North Adams, Mass., and Alysha Braton of North Adams; brothers, William Downes of York, Pa., Robert Downes of New Jersey and Richard Downes of New Jersey; sisters, Beverly Ann Downes of Pennsylvania and Teresa Downes of Canton; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
There will be no visitation, and cremation will take place.
Burial of his cremains will be in Canton.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, Warren.
