DEAR EDITOR:
I am happy to announce a great breakthrough has been made in the area of "What Ails America." It has recently been discovered that the United States and a large number of her citizens are suffering from AOJ, (absence of Jesus). This is a dangerous and life-threatening malady that is the root cause of greed, unethical and immoral behavior, pornography, lust, abortion and a general state of confusion in the human mind.
Though overlooked in the face of massive debt, gridlock in Washington, D.C., and a general denial of truth by our country's leaders, the ugly fact is that AOJ is slowly destroying America. Although unwilling to address the problem, I believe most people know it exists. It is often easier to point fingers than look in the mirror.
Sadly, AOJ has infected state, local and national government, our schools, our families, and, in some cases, our churches. Many Americans have been scratching their heads and asking "What's wrong with America? What's wrong with my life?"
At last we have the answer. AOJ can now be addressed and the cure revealed. It's really quite simple, but it will take a group effort. If every American this Sunday would take five minutes, get on our knees in prayer, and open our hearts to God and ask the Lord to forgive us for not believing in his power and trusting in Him and for turning our backs on Him and His Son, then ask Him to restore America spiritually and if we do this with a heart of love for Jesus, keep Him as a priority in our lives and in the life of our country. I believe we can stamp out AOJ forever in our great country.
