New this week on DVD and Blu-ray:
''Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows'' The 2009 version of "Sherlock Holmes'' reimagined the sleuth created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle as a bit of an action hero as well as a master of disguise and a superior detective. He still is all of those things in the sequel, but this movie is as much a love story as an action film. However, the love interest isn't Rachel McAdams, who disappears after the opening scenes, or Noomi Rapace, who is largely wasted here. Instead, it's the between Holmes and Watson.
The bromance shines through whenever director Guy Ritchie takes a break from the action and gun battles, which get repetitive. But, like the first movie, its appeal depends heavily on the interplay between Robert Downey Jr.'s Holmes and Jude Law's Dr. Watson, and they don't disappoint.
The Blu-ray comes with seven short featurettes and an a maximum movie mode hosted by Downey. (Warner Home Video, $28.98 DVD, $35.99 Blu-ray/DVD combo)
