Winners of the Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District's annual poster contest will be on display through June at the Art Outreach Gallery, located inside Eastwood Mall in Niles.
This year's theme, "Soil to Spoon," stresses the importance of soil in the production of food.
Grades K-1 - Kennedy Jones, a kindergarten student at Howland Glen, first place
Grades 2-3 - Brycen Klotzbach, from Bascom Elementary, first place; Austen Price, North Road Intermediate School, second place; and Carla Thigpen, North Road Intermediate School, third place.
Grades 7-9 - Marcus Cupp, Lakeview Middle School, first place; Kaylie Klotzbach, LaBrae Middle School, second place; Caitlyn Frazier, LaBrae, third place; and Morgan Clover and Aubrey Weber, both from LaBrae, honorable mention.
Grades 10-12 - Karley Sullivan, LaBrae High School, first place; Mia Echevarria, Hubbard, second place; Tiffany Warne, LaBrae, third place; and Amanda Richards and Kelsey Schuster, both from LaBrae, honorable mention.
First place poster contest winners received a $75 gift card, while second and third place winners received $50 and $25, respectively.
