CORTLAND - Neal E. Eaton, 81, went home to be with the Lord at 5:50 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Health Center following a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family .
He was born Dec. 17, 1930, in Warren, the son of Gerald and Raye Hammond Eaton. He grew up in Cortland.
Neal was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served this country from January 1951 until his honorable discharge in January 1955.

He was the broker/owner of the original Cortland Realty since 1972 and was a developer and visionary in the real estate community. He formed the Eaton Group GMAC Real Estate Company (currently Real Living Brokers Realty Group) where he supported and trained many of the agents in the local market today. He will be sadly missed by his agents and colleagues.
Neal's joys in life were his grandchildren and golfing.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 58 years, the former Ann Braun; along with his children John (Lana) Eaton, Sue Clark and Monika (Richard) Barnhart, 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Audrey, Sue and Sandy.
Neal was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Geraldine; brothers, Lloyd and Jim; and his grandson, Steven.
At Neal's request, there will be no calling hours or memorial service.
The family will hold a private service.
The family wishes to thank the CCU staff at St. Elizabeth and Hospice of the Valley for their kind and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512, or John F. Kennedy Catholic School Annual Fund, 2550 Central Parkway S.E., Warren, OH 44484.
