CORTLAND LIBRARY PLANS CLOSING LOCATION: The Cortland Library Branch will close its doors for the last time at its current location on North High Street at 5 p.m. Thursday and reopen at a new building at 578 Lakeview Drive at 11:30 a.m. on June 9.
The library will be closed for one week Friday to June 8 as new books and other materials are moved to the new building. Due dates for the checked-out items will be adjusted to allow for the one-week closure. The book drop will not be available the week of transition.
Beginning June 11, the new expanded hours will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Friday and Saturday, and closed Sunday.
EVENT FOR DOGS AT THE PARK: Doggie Day at the Park is being planned for noon to 3 p.m. June 10 at the Mosquito Lake Dog Park, Bazetta.
ROBOTICS TEAM PLANS GOLF EVENT: The Girard Robotics Team will sponsor a four-person golf scramble at 9 a.m. July 21 at the Mahoning Country Club. Cost is $65 per person, which includes lunch and dinner and refreshments. To register, call 330-545-5431, Ext. 202.
MEETING TO DISCUSS PIPELINE: The Mahoning County Farm Bureau will sponsor a pipeline construction issues briefing at 7 p.m. June 4 at McMahon Hall, Mill Creek MetroParks Farm, Canfield, facilitated by Ohio Farm Bureau Director for Energy, Utility and Local Government Issues.
Pipeline development is becoming a major issue and will be the topic of discussion along with eminent domain, farmland preservation and what landowners should consider in negotiating effective easement agreements with pipeline developers.
