Roger had a dry sense of humor that made everyone around him laugh. He was sarcastic and outspoken, and always told those he loved exactly how it was.

He enjoyed providing rides for his Amish friends and would go hunting with them regularly. Most of all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he always kept on their toes with his jokes and pranks. He truly was one of a kind.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 16 years, Ruth Bayus Pinter of Southington, whom he married June 10, 1995; his children, Beth Steele of Rockland, Maine, Gene Pinter of Brookfield and Yvonne Stillings of Cortland; his grandchildren, David (Brittany James) Steele, Alexis (Charlie) Dillon and Kellie Stillings; and his siblings, Beverly (James) Hawkins of Frostproof, Fla., Jake (Roseanne) Pinter of Parkman, Dan (Deb) Pinter of Frostproof, Fla., Susan Pinter of Pecos, N.M., and Kathy (Dan) Sabula of Southington.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Orr.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home on Tuesday and also one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Interment will be in Southington Graham Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material contributions be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral costs, in his memory.
