Kathryn Gardner

PLANO, Texas - Kathryn Reilly Gardner, 64, lost her courageous battle to cancer at 11:27 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren surrounded by her family.

She was born in Warren, the daughter of Phillip Reilly and the late Josephine Gould Reilly.

Kathryn was a graduate of Lordstown High School and founded her own advertising agency, Group G Enterprises, while living in Columbus. She then moved to Dallas and became a communications leader for EDS and most recently for Fidelity Investments.

Other than her father of Lordstown, Kathryn is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 22 years, Joe Phillips; five children, Amy (Kevin) Gardner Kelley of Los Angeles, Paul Phillips of Allen, Texas, David (Brandy) Phillips of Fort Collins, Colo., Brandy (Bo) Trosper of Prosper, Texas, and Brian Phillips of Plano; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Connie (Arch) Jones of Lordstown. Also, surviving is a nephew, Michael Jones of Austintown; two nieces, Patty Jones of Mineral Ridge and Kelly (John) Jones Barnhart of Champion; and six great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by the many loving friends and family that will miss her generosity, her joyful spirit and her infectious sense of humor.

Other than her mother, a nephew, Martin Jones, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where her daughter, Amy, and the Rev. Dr. Bernard Oakes of the Lordstown Christian Church will celebrate Kathryn's life.

Family and friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Pine Knoll Cemetery, Warren Township.
