Be a columnist for the Tribune

May 11, 2012
Tribune Chronicle | TribToday.com

The Tribune Chronicle is seeking four Trumbull County residents to serve as community columnists on the Opinion page.

Everyone - young and old, men and women, white collar and blue collar, newcomers and old timers, all ethnic groups, all races, everyone - is encouraged to submit material for consideration. Columnists are paid $25 for each submission.

The requirement is a willingness to commit to writing 26 columns, one every two weeks, from July through June 2013. You also must be a good writer with something to say - these are opinion pieces so community columnists are expected to have an opinion on a wide range of subjects, although a slice of life with a lesson is acceptable. These are not just letters to the editor.

To be considered send three samples of your writing, a letter of introduction with an idea about what topics you might write about, and a brief resume or curriculum vitae. Mail your material to Tribune Chronicle - Opinion Page Editor, 240 Franklin St. S.E. Warren, 44482; or email your material to editorial@tribtoday.com. Put community columnist in the subject line.

The deadline to submit material for consideration is May 27.
