Shirley E. Markle 1940-2012

CORTLAND - Shirley E. Markle, 71, of Fowler, passed away Sunday evening, April 29, 2012, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 20, 1940 in Sharon, Pa., the daughter of George and Betty Biel McDonald.

She worked at Neal and Baker schools in the Mathews School District as an aide in the kitchens. She had previously worked at Hillside Hospital as a receptionist. She belonged to Fowler Community Church and served on the Fowler Election Board.

Her two greatest loves were her family and her church and its extended family. She also enjoyed traveling, snowmobiling and tanning.

She is survived by her husband, Lester P. Markle, whom she married May 3, 1958, of Cortland; two daughters, Tracy (Douglas) Wilcox of Massillon and Lisa (Edward) Armentrout of Fowler; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jerry McDonald of Cortland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Patricia in 1990, and a brother, Tom McDonald.

Friends and relatives may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Fowler Community Church, 4651 state Route 305, Fowler, OH 44418, where the funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Cortland.

Donations may be made to the Fowler Community Church, P.O. Box 5, Fowler, OH 44418, or to Ohio's Choice Hospice, 1520 E. Market St., Warren, OH 44483, in Shirley's name.

Arrangements were entrusted to Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, Hartford.
