Mary Stafford Mulvin 1914-2012

GARRETTSVILLE - Mary Stafford Mulvin, 98, formerly of Orangeville, passed away Monday morning, April 30, 2012, at Briar Hill Healthcare Residence, Middlefield.

She was born April 2, 1914, in Farrell, Pa., the daughter of Michael and Mary Weiss Sadler.

Mary retired in 1963 as chief telephone operator in Orangeville for the Eastern Telephone Co., after working more than 20 years.

She was a member of Orangeville United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the UMW and the evangelism committee. She taught Sunday school for 50 years. She also was a member of the Orangeville Literary Club. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening.

She married Walter J. Mulvin on Nov. 4, 1965. He preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 2001.

She is survived by two daughters, Gladys Baldwin of Garrettsville and Hallie B. Kolod of Sylmar, Calif.; three sons, Kenneth H. Stafford of Kinsman, James M. Stafford of Orangeville and the Rev. William W. Stafford of West Palm Beach, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Friends and relatives may call from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 state Route 7, Hartford, where the funeral service will follow at 2 p.m.

Burial will be at Hartford Township Cemetery.
