FATHERHOOD FUN DAY PLANNED AT SCHOOL: A Fatherhood Fun Day will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Jefferson K-8 School, 1543 Tod Ave. S.W., Warren. The event is for fathers and children ages 5 to 13. The event will include fitness games, speakers and giveaways. Children must be accompanied by a father or male adult figure. BENEFIT TO HELP MAN: A benefit to help Austintown resident Jeff Haefke with a lung transplant will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Austintown Middle School cafeteria, 8000 S. Raccoon Road. There will be a Chinese raffle, baked goods and entertainment. Haefke was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and is in need of a double lung transplant. Donations can be made at any Huntington Bank branch in care of the The Haefke Family Benefit.
NICHOLSON CENTER HOSTS MONTHLY DANCE: The Nicholson Center, 1240 N. Main St., Niles, will hold its monthly dance with the theme "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the center. All those participating are asked to dress with their favorite baseball team apparel.
The cost of entrance is $2 per person or for free entrance, a donation of canned goods to the Warren Family Mission will be accepted. There will be a special appearance from Scrappy, the mascot to The Scrappers. The dance is open to adults who attend any day habilitation service in Trumbull, Columbiana and Mahoning counties.
MUSIC GROUP TO PERFORM: The local musical group Hey Kid! will perform at 2:15 p.m. Saturday at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren. Hey Kid! was formed in 2008 by band members in Youngs-town and features original children's songs.
The performance is part of the library's celebration of Family Book Day. Children of all ages and their families are invited to enjoy stories, a puppet show and craft activities starting at 1 p.m. Each child who attends will receive a free book courtesy of First Book of Trumbull County, while supplies last.

NEW LOCATION FOR MVOC: The Mahoning Valley Organizing Collaborative will be moving its Youngstown office to the historic Ohio One Building, 25 E. Boardman St., Suite 428, Youngstown. The new offices will have increased meeting space, access to a 200-person auditorium for larger meetings, and a common area where leaders can gather to talk about grassroots community change.
WALK FOR A CURE: A CureSearch Walk will be held starting at noon Saturday at Austintown Township Park to celebrate and honor children from the across the Valley who have or have had cancer. Money raised will go toward allow children with cancer to receiving treatment and care at hospitals close to home. There will be a balloon ceremony and time of reflection.
EARTH DAY SET: Liberty Township will hold an Earth Day neighborhood litter cleanup from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Volunteers are asked to stop at the township administration building. For information call 330-759-1315.
