SCOPE HOSTS SPRING SHOW: The SCOPE Inc. Spotlight spring variety show "Legends" will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Lakeview High School, 300 Hillman Drive. Entertainment legends from the stage, screen, comedy shows and the world of music will be showcased, highlighting a variety of talent in different age groups, from students and teens to senior citizens. There will be comedy routines, dance numbers, singing and other entertainment. Among those featured will be members of SCOPE Inc., the Mineral Ridge High School danceline and the musical group For Grace. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for students ages 18 and younger. Tickets are available at any of the SCOPE centers, at the door or by calling 330-399-8846.

RETIREES TO MEET: Howland Schools Retirees will meet at 11 a.m. May 1 at Enzo's. All retired personnel, classified and non-classified, are welcome to attend the monthly lunch meetings along with their spouses or guests. Cost of the meal, payable at the door, is $10 with a choice from three to four entrees offered. Items of non-perishable canned or boxed foods and paper goods will be collected for Beatitude House.

GUARDIAN ANGELS SEEK VOLUNTEERS: The Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer program of the Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. Angel volunteers receive training to become advocates who reach out as friends to seniors who may need a friendly phone call, visitor to a nursing home or a visit at home. Angels also are involved in planning special events for seniors such as health fairs and Make A Difference Day projects. VALLEYCARE LAUNCHES SENIOR CIRCLE: Seniors in Trumbull and Mahoning County communities have a new resource: Senior Circle, a program designed especially for adults age 50 and older to promote fellowship, fun and healthy aging.

ValleyCare Health System of Ohio is launching Senior Circle at Northside Medical Center and Trumbull Memorial Hospital to provide area seniors an outlet for enjoying their golden years and pursuing an active lifestyle, while learning about health and wellness and meeting others with similar interests. Senior Circle membership provides a variety of benefits, including social opportunities, health education programs, exercise classes, volunteerism, entertainment, and day and overnight travel ranging from area historical and cultural attractions to resort destinations.

Spring into Senior Circle and attend one of the free kickoff events hosted by Northside Medical Center and Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

In Mahoning County: Northside Medical Center kicks off its chapter with a free health fair and vendor expo from noon to 2:30 p.m. April 27 at Mr. Anthony's Banquet Center in Boardman. The event features lunch, nostalgic music and film clips, games, door prizes and more. Registration is required by Monday. In Trumbull County: Trumbull Memorial Hospital kicks off its Senior Circle chapter with a health expo and luncheon from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Leo's Ristorante in Warren (Howland Township). The event starts with health screenings, national and local vendor displays and health information, followed by lunch and a program at 11:30 a.m. Music by Doug Thomas and the Sonic Boomers, demonstrations, a raffle and door prizes are among the other features.

PARK VISTA SCHEDULES EVENTS:

Ted Cubbison, a resident of Park Vista and long-time member of the Youngstown Lions Club, received the past district governor's award for his work and dedication to the club. This is one of the highest awards in Lionism.

Five past district governors came to the Lions weekly meeting on March 29 to present the award. The meeting was held in Park Vista's Gathering Room.

The book tells the story of the Slovak community in the Mahoning Valley from the first wave of immigrants in the 1870s to today. Archival photographs and distinctive stories from the past weave the rich tapestry depicting the lives of Slovak immigrants fleeing poverty in Europe for the hope and prosperity of the Valley's steel mills.

BUILDING PRODUCTS RETIREES TO MEET: Niles Building Products Retirees meet the second Wednesday of each month at Scenna's Restaurant, 1901 N. State St., Niles.

NILES RETIRED TEACHERS TO MEET: The Niles Classroom Retired Teachers meet every other month on the second Tuesday. All retired Niles teachers can attend.

The TRUMBULL COUNTY NUTRITION PROGRAM FOR THE ELDERLY is provided by the Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs and operates nutrition sites at 10 locations throughout Trumbull County. These sites provide a meal and the opportunity for socialization. Donations will be accepted.

Any senior citizen 60 and older and spouses of those 60 and older are welcome for lunch at any of the following sites:

All those 55 and older are welcome. Annual dues are $12.
