GARFIELD 4, MOGADORE 3: GARRETTSVILLE - Mogadore's Brady Douglas stole home with two outs in the top of the 7th inning to tie the game at 3, but Garfield's Sebastian Neikirk hit a game-winning single to plate Mike Cook. Neikirk also pitched the last two innings in relief for the win.
WOODRIDGE 1, SOUTHEAST 0: PENINSULA - Woodridge senior pitcher John Weniger threw a complete-game two-hitter and struck out 11 to lead the Bulldogs.
WARREN G. HARDING 11, SHAW 1: WARREN - Right-hander Jared Paige took a shutout into the top of the fifth inning as the Raiders improved to 5-2. Paige struck out seven. Brock Bogan and Kyle Cogley each had two hits and two RBIs for Harding. Both of Bogan's hits were doubles. Harding hosts Lakeview at 4:30 on Friday.
GRAND VALLEY 23, LORDSTOWN 0: LORDSTOWN - Kyle Hodge hit a two-run home run and knocked in three RBIs, while A.J. Henson added three hits including a triple.
McDONALD 11, LOWELLVILLE 4: MCDONALD - Brandon O'Neill worked through a tough first inning where he gave up three runs, and fitched five more scoreless innings to get the win. He also added three hits. Austin Bucan was a huge game; he smacked three singles, a double and collected two RBI. David Ritz, and Cameron Ifft also added two hits and two RBIs.
SOUTH RANGE 8, MINERAL RIDGE 7: CANFIELD - Mineral Ridge's Dan Ferguson continued his torrid spring with three hits, including two doubles. He's now hitting.577. His teammate Zack Tasker had the most impressive day with two doubles and three RBIs. All of that wasn't enough to hold the Raiders from staging a three-run comeback in the bottom of the seventh inning.
MATHEWS 10, MAPLEWOOD 2: MECCA - Nate Homan spotted the Rockets a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, but shut them out over the next five innings and Alex Bagaglia worked a scoreless seventh as the Mustangs prevailed in a Northeastern Athletic Conference game. Homan scattered seven hits, struck out nine and walked two.
NILES 13, PIONEER CENTRAL 3: MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Red Dragons jumped on Pioneer Central with six runs in the bottom of the first inning on their way to a five-inning victory in the Cal Ripken Experience. Ryan Ifft ripped three hits and had two RBIs and Tyler Wier, Pat Barrett and Justin Lopes each had two hits for Niles (10-2). Barrett, Lopes and Jake Foster each drove in two runs. Foster struck out nine and scattered six hits for the victory.
