A short story — Chapter one

Tight-lipped, the two girls that seemed to be twins surveyed the damage that had been wrought on what had once been a thriving city. A flat, gray plain stretched out before them, a toxic wind blowing ash into their faces. A cough from the green-eyed girl brought their attention back to the objective at hand. With an expressionless glare, the brown-eyed girl snapped a picture of the wasteland that now existed in place of the home of thousands of people.
