BOARDMAN - John Hill, 94, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 17, 1917, in Polmont, Scotland, the son of Joseph and Flora MacDonald Hill.
John served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and later retired from U.S. Steel Co.

Survivors include his wife, Esther M. Alcroft; a son, Robert J. Hill of Pine, Colo.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marion Frank, and a sister.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home in Boardman. Family and friends may call for one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
