HOPEWELL FARM REOPENS: Following an exciting inaugural year that surpassed sales goals, the Hopewell Farm and Craft Market, located at 9489 state Route 534 in Mesopotamia, will reopen on Friday.
Operated by staff and residents, the market sells Hopewell-produced eggs, maple syrup, crafts and greeting cards, as well as fresh flowers and produce.
The market will open Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through November, when the annual holiday open house will take place. In addition to generating a modest income, the store also helps residents build self-esteem, learn vocational and customer service skills and use creative expression as a means to heal and recover. It also serves as a way to raise awareness of Hopewell's treatment program within the community.
The grand opening weekend will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, with cookies and beverages served. The market will also be included as a stop on the annual March Maple Madness Tour on March 10 and 17.
Hopewell is a working farm community where adults with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depression learn to manage their mental illness and return to independent life.
Hopewell is the only residential mental health facility in Ohio that provides this effective combination of treatment-based, community-centered care.

SPD, formerly known as "sensory integration dysfunction" is a condition that exists when sensory signals don't get organized into appropriate responses.
