NEWTON - A mid-morning, one-car accident in Newton Township has left two people dead and one critically injured, according to the Warren post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at 11 a.m. Monday on Kale Adams Road, south of Hewitt-Gifford Road.

The driver, Richard A. Aandewiel, 27, of Newton Falls, was flown by helicopter to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, where he was listed in critical condition late Monday.
Killed were passengers Michael Robinson, 20, of Newton Falls, and a second passenger whose identity has not been determined.
Robinson was flown by helicopter to Akron City Hospital, where he was pronounced dead Monday afternoon. The patrol said the unidentified passenger will be named once his identity is known, and family have been notified.
None of the occupants was wearing seatbelts, the patrol reported.
According to the patrol, Aandewiel lost control while driving a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier northbound on Kale Adams Road. The vehicle traveled off the west side of the road and struck a tree on the passenger side, although the entire car sustained some damage.
The patrol said the vehicle was traveling faster than the posted 45 mph speed limit.
Toxicology results were pending late Monday.
