DEAR EDITOR:
I recently returned from the annual Detroit Auto Show and I have great news for the Valley and the U.S. in general: The U.S. auto industry is back.
The displays put on by GM, Ford and Chrysler were fantastic. A special mention must be said for Cadillac, which introduced both the new small ATS and new large XTS at the show. The ATS will sell like hot-cakes and the XTS screams class and style unlike any Cadillac in recent memory.
Buick also had the new Verano, which is the best new Buick I have ever seen. But the bottom line was the products: great new engines and drivetrains and plenty of 2013 models about to roll off the U.S. assembly lines. It all screamed loud and proud. The year 2012 will be a great year for U.S. automakers, mark my words.
