WARREN - Darlene Rosanna Perry North, 53, of Warren, departed this life at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at St. Joseph Health Center of cardiac arrest.
She was born April 13, 1958, in Aurora, Ill., the daughter of Peter Ramero Munos and Lillian Perry, moving to the area 22 years ago from Youngstown.
She was owner / operator of Dar's Daycare Service for 20 years, and was previously employed with G.M. Corp. B.O.C. Lordstown Division, Brentwood Originals, and Aurora Federal Savings and Loan for five years as a bank teller and advanced to the accounting department.
A 1976 graduate of Rosary High School in Aurora, Ill., she attended Parkland College in Champagne, Ill., and Youngstown State University studying criminal justice.
A member of the St. Andrews A.M.E. Church, she was Scout Mother of the Girl Scouts Troup 324 and also a member of the National Parlimentarians Society.
She leaves to mourn her her husband, Oscar North Jr. of Warren; two daughters, Ms. Angelica North and Ms. Armyna North, both of Warren; her mother, Mrs. Lillian Perry of Aurora, Ill.; two stepsons, Walter (Michelle) Brown of Campbell and Justin (Katrina) Dixon of Pittsburgh; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Yolanda (Emmit) Connor of Youngstown; a half-sister, Ms. Marshalyn Coleman of Las Vegas, Nev.; a grandchild; and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, a stepdaughter, and a half-brother, Peter Munos Jr.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St. Andrews A.M.E., 521 W. Earle Ave., Youngstown, Ohio. The calling hours will be one hour prior to the service.
The Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
