Howland to review zoning amendments
HOWLAND - The Howland Township Zoning Commission will hold a work session at 6 p.m. Jan. 18 at the township administration building.
The session is scheduled to discuss amendments to the Howland Township zoning resolution, and specifically, possible changes to the Corridor Review District design standards, sign and parking language.

Tuesday is deadline for Fitness Challenge
WARREN - Tuesday is the deadline to sign up for the 2012 edition of the Tribune Chronicle / St. Joseph-St. Elizabeth Fitness Challenge.
The initial weigh-in for the annual weight loss competition to benefit charity is Jan. 19. Five-member teams will weigh in weekly through March 29. The team losing the greatest percentage of its starting weight gains the largest share of the prize package for its designated community service organization.
Registration is $250, with $50 of that due upon sign up and the remainder due by Feb. 16. The top team wins $1,350 for its designated charity; second, $900; third, $540; fourth, $360; fifth to seventh, $315 each; eighth to tenth, $270 each; and all others, $225.

'It All Started Here' series tickets on sale
WARREN - Tickets for the ''It All Started Here'' lecture series are on sale at the Tribune Chronicle.
The lecture series includes five events featuring Trumbull County residents who made it big. All appearances are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren.
The series kicks off Jan. 26 with talk show radio host Hugh Hewitt. Others scheduled throughout the year are former Compaq and MCI CEO Michael Capellas, April 24; New York Met opera singer Gary Lehman, May 15; pro football Hall of Famer Paul Warfield, July 12; and actor / director Austin Pendleton, Sept. 13.
Ticket purchases include a free 2012 calendar featuring famous Trumbull County natives, past and present, as illustrated by Tribune Chronicle editorial cartoonist Rick Muccio.
Tickets for the entire five-event set may be purchased for $75 at the Tribune Chronicle, 240 Franklin St. S.E., Warren; or by mail with a coupon appearing periodically in the newspaper.
Individual lecture tickets are available as well at $20 each.
