CHRISTMAS CRAFT MARKET: Hopewell, a therapeutic farm located on 306-acres in Mesopotamia, will host its first Christmas open house at their onsite store, the Hopewell Farm and Craft Market, on Nov. 25 and 26. Shop the market for holiday gifts including snowmen, bird houses, dried floral arrangements, as well as farm fresh eggs and Hopewell's award-winning maple syrup - all produced by residents. The Christmas open house will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Hopewell is a residential community that treats adults with serious mental illness, encouraging them to believe in their own potential, develop the skills to manage their illness and eventually transition to a more independent living situation. Organized in work teams, residents assume the major responsibilities for all aspects of the farm's daily work, which includes creating crafts and preparing eggs and produce to be sold at the store. The Hopewell Farm and Craft Market will be open through the holidays and will reopen in March.
