As of late, it is a frightening world out there with many, many strange and weird, violent happenings to go along with a terrible economy. There seem to be more murders, beatings, arsons, shootings, kidnappings, assaults, disappearances, bullying and any kind of violence you can think of, including hit-and-run accidents and wars. Of course, a lot of violence is a result of drugs and the need for them.
The Amish also are having a hard time, as they are having their hair and beards cut off. Even wild turkeys are saying they have had enough and are attacking people with no remorse or reason. Why?
There will always be a certain amount of the above types of violence, except maybe the Amish and the turkeys, but we all have to agree that lately, violence has gone through the roof. I honestly believe we have returned to a "Wild West" atmosphere. Our own area is not immune to all this extra violence, as our evening news seems to go on and on just about local violence.
Could the economy be playing a huge role in all of this? Throughout our country, people are out of work by the millions. Residents are being thrown from their homes due to foreclosures, and as a result domestic violence is on the upswing as well. Judges seem to be working overtime with the heavy load of cases passing through their courts. Drunkenness seems to be at an all-time high as pressures prevail on those affected by this dreaded economy and personal problems, not to mention depression.
According to some facts and figures from NBC, a recent weekend in New York City shows that at least 67 people were shot between 12 a.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Monday. Unbelievable. Something is just not right.
I have often believed that much of this unnatural human behavior also could be a result of sudden climate change and maybe the earth itself slightly tipping off its axis. There has been so much flooding, drought, earthquakes and weather changes. Politicians, in general, seem to be so much out of touch with people. Most of them have never served in the military, nor would they and have never been poor and don't seem to understand the plight of the people. My opinion is that they (politicians) should and could work together to help put our country back together. Plus, they could create jobs instead of constant bickering like a bunch of little kids. Could this bickering also be a result of climate change? You may wonder what this has to do with violence. Lack of jobs very well could be a big reason for all of this late violence. Politicians' main philosophy seems to be that they rule the country and it's their way or the highway. They have failed the people so miserably while constantly seeking our vote. Incredible.
Writer Rosanne Skirble indicates that researchers say that by using the forecasts of El Nino effectively, (El Nino is the climate cycle which produces the periodic warming of Pacific Ocean waters and occurs every three to five years alternating with cooling periods known as La Nina) officials might be able to predict possible outbreaks of violence and be more prepared to handle them. She continues that it's very important to remember that political situations, social situations, economic situations are all very important to the onset of organized violence. But what they are finding is that those things when combined with climate changes seem to make violence more likely. A new study in the journal, "Nature," finds that war is also associated with global climate.
Problems and violence seem to rise with the over population of our world, Maybe, it's an over population of wild turkeys that gives them the incentive to all at once be violent and strut off to war with humans.
