HOWLAND - Kaylyn "Kay" Nelson, 68, died at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 11, 1943, in Oil City, Pa., the daughter of the late Joseph and Eleanor McGuire Costanza.
Kay was a 1961 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Oil City. She retired in 2009 as an X-ray technician from Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital after 25 years. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. Kay was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald "Jerry" Nelson, whom she wed June 10, 1967; two children, Brent (Heather) Nelson of Liberty and Brian (Beth Sprague) Nelson of Cortland; and two grandchildren, Brent Jr. and Sydney Hope Nelson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a granddaughter, Taylor Diane Nelson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Blessed Sacrament Church, with the Rev. Thomas Eisweirth officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel in Warren.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
