Bloomfield High splattered by paint
NORTH BLOOMFIELD - Vandals hit Bloomfield High School late Thursday or early Friday, breaking windows and splattering paint over the brick siding, deputies reported.
A janitor, Randy Ballard, discovered the damage about 7 a.m. and called the Trumbull County Sheriff's Office.
Deputy Nick Timko said he found white, tan and purple paint thrown on the brick and some windows on the north and west sides of the building at 2077 Park West Road. Three windows also were broken out on the north side of the school, according to deputy reports.
Timko found paint can lids that were marked with an order number and purchase date and could help in a pending investigation.

Salvation Army seeks donations of food
WARREN - The Salvation Amy, 270 Franklin St. S.E., said it is in need of food donations following a freezer breakdown over the weekend because the condenser failed.
Capt. Charles Coffelt, corps commanding officer, said the insurance company will help with the purchase of frozen food, but there is still a loss because of the deductible. The estimated loss is $2,548, including meats.
In addition, food donations in summer months typically are low, he said.
The Salvation Army serves 100 to 120 individuals a day in the hot meals program, with 120 families receiving food to take home per month.
The Army needs frozen meats, vegetables and fruit as well as money, he said. For information, call 330-392-1573.
FEMA awards funds for food, shelter programs
Emergency food and shelter programs in 46 Ohio counties will share $4.45 million distributed by Federal Emergency Management Agency's Emergency Food and Shelter Program grant program, Sen. Sherrod Brown's office announced Friday.
Trumbull County is scheduled to receive $113,831 and Mahoning County $121,406.
Funding will support social service agencies in cities and counties throughout Ohio to help feed and shelter the state's hungry and homeless. EFSP funds are used to supplement food, shelter, rent, mortgage, and utility assistance programs for people with non-disaster-related emergencies.
