Girard festival to feature fireworks

GIRARD - The annual Girard Mount Carmel Festival will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight daily Tuesday to Saturday at the Italian Fraternal Home grounds, 33 Wilson Ave., and include food, games, bingo, entertainment, a parade and fireworks finale.

Each day, a different musical group is scheduled to perform.

The schedule includes a pre-festival performance with the Pete Shelby Band at 8 p.m. Monday; the Girard Community Dixieland Band from 5 to 7 p.m. and the Frank Gallo Band from 8 to 11 p.m. on Tuesday; The Rage from 8 to 11 p.m. on Wednesday; Cleveland Flats from 8 to 11 p.m. Thursday; deejay Steve from 5 to 7 p.m. and First Degree from 8 to 11 p.m. Friday; and the Girard Community Swingtime Band from 5 to 7 p.m. and St. Margaret's Bluecoat Band from 8 to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The parade is at 10 a.m. Saturday and will travel from the IFH Hall to St. Rose Church at 11 a.m and later to the cemetery at 1 p.m.

Fireworks will conclude the festival at 11 p.m. on Saturday at the Girard-McDonald viaduct off West Liberty Street.
