Ohio gas prices up 25 cents from last week
COLUMBUS - Ohio holiday travelers are paying 25 cents more for gasoline than they were last week, though prices are still down quite a bit from the highs of two months ago.
Monday's survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express puts Ohio's average price for regular-grade gasoline at $3.59 a gallon, up from $3.34 a week ago. But prices are more than 50 cents cheaper than the May 4 all-time high for regular in Ohio, which was $4.16 a gallon.
Gas costs have been coming down in tandem with oil prices, which dropped nearly 16 percent in May and June.

Counties charge jail fees, had drawn lawsuit
CINCINNATI - Two southwest Ohio counties are again charging jail inmates "reception fees" which had been the subject of federal lawsuits more than a decade ago.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports what's different this time is that the booking fees must be paid only by convicted inmates.
The sheriff's office in suburban Butler County began charging convicts a $20 fee on Friday, to help with costs. Hamilton County, which includes Cincinnati, has had a $40 reception charge for convicted inmates since 2008.
A federal judge found the fees were unconstitutional when applied to inmates who were not convicted but were in jail awaiting trial. Hamilton and Butler counties had to pay thousands of dollars in refunds as part settlements.
