OS ANGELES - Glen Patrick Wolford, 49, died from a brief illness at 1:03 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011, at the Akron Children's Hospital Burn Unit.
He was born July 15, 1961, in Youngstown, the son of Dale A. and Patricia Irene Durig Wolford.
Glen had lived in California for the past 10 years and recently returned to this area to be with his family.
Glen graduated from John F. Kennedy High School and received a degree in special education from Youngstown State University.
Glen was dearly loved by his immediate family and friends, and will be remembered most for his ability to find laughter in every situation.
To his friends in LA, the family says thank you for allowing him into your hearts and becoming his home away from home.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia I. Wolford of Niles; five sisters and seven brothers, Kathy (Don) Garland of Austintown, Cindy Alvarez of Niles, Debra (Dr. Michael Turkali) Wolford of McDonald, Karen (Brian) Lengyel of Lordstown, Minnie Wolford of Niles, Joseph (Patricia) Wolford of Idaho, Frank (Teri) Wolford of Salem, Donald Wolford of McDonald, David Wolford of Warren, Leonard (Sandra) Wolford of Columbus, John (Cheri) Wolford of McDonald and Paul (Becky) Wolford of McDonald; 26 nieces and nephews; and 13 great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father on Sept. 21, 2003, and by his brother, Jerald A. Wolford, on Dec. 11, 1978.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011, at St. Mary Church, Mineral Ridge, with the Rev. Richard Murphy as the celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
