WARREN - Kaitlyn Nicole Jones, 18, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, March 16, 2011, at Akron City Hospital from complications with diabetes.
Kaity was born Aug. 2, 1992, in Warren, the daughter of Gary E. Jones II and Leah K. Kerr McDonald.
She was a 2010 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, where she had been a member of the Key Club and active with WSCN school news.
Currently, Kaity was a freshman at Kent State University, where she was pursuing a degree in nursing as well as looking forward to participating in the Destination Kent Program for incoming freshman next fall semester.
During her time away from class, she enjoyed cooking, dancing and spending time with her many friends.
She will be sadly missed by her father, Gary of Austintown; mother, Leah and her husband, Patrick McDonald of Warren; her sister, Madison Jones and brother, Nathan Jones, both of Warren; her grandparents, Gary and Bonnie Jones of Niles, Joan Kerr of Vienna, and Gerald and Marcia McDonald of Aiken, S.C.; her great-grandmother, Regina Nelson of Sharpsville, Pa.; her uncles, Aaron (Teri) Jones and Jake Kerr, all of Columbus, Brian (Tammy) Kerr of New Paris, Pa., Sean Kerr of Cortland and Garrett McDonald of Denver; and by her aunts, Peggy Hurst of Niles and Aimee Kerr of Cortland.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, William Kerr, in 2005.
Calling hours for friends and family will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, 6923 Warren Sharon Road, Brookfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
