The Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley, 962 Martin Luther King Blvd., Youngstown, is displaying ''CHERISH THE OLD FAMILY BIBLE'' for Christmas at the mission. The display was created by volunteer Carol Perkins of Austintown. Perkins created the holiday decorating theme for the mission's lobby with old Bibles, antique sewing machines and wooden furniture. The Friends of the Hubbard Library are accepting DONATIONS OF BOOKS, CDs, DVDs, puzzles and games for their ongoing book sale under the stairs. There is a need for children's books. PROJECT FEED OUR VALLEY collects food and money during November and December for the hungry, and works to raise awareness of about the growing number of hungry people in the community. Since its inception in 2008, the Feed Our Valley campaign has raised nearly $200,000 and collected more than 185,000 pounds of food for Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley, which distributes food to 153 hunger relief organizations in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
