Justine Straub and Dr. Michael Karl were united in marriage during a wedding Mass held Sept. 18, 2010, at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago. Officiating the Mass were the Rev. John Boivin and also the Rev. Donald King of St. Michael's Church, Boardman.
A reception was held following the ceremony at the Sofitel Chicago.
The bride is the daughter of Joseph and Theresa Straub of Park Ridge, Ill. Parents of the groom are David and Dianne Karl of Howland.

Kristy Novak attended the bride as matron of honor, while Renee Baasch attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Tiffany Horeni, Patricia Lardino and Jennifer Grzeca. Arianna Holmes, cousin of the groom, served as flower girl.
Sharing the duties of best man for their brother were David Jr. and Matthew Karl. Groomsmen were Joseph Straub, brother of the bride, Ceasar Aulizio, cousin of the groom, and Robert Naples Jr. Ushers were Christopher DeCola and Matthew Novak. The ring bearer was Hayden Joseph, cousin of the bride.
The new Mrs. Karl is a 1998 graduate of West Leyden High School in Illinois. She attended Triton college in River Grove, Ill., and received her real estate license in 2005. She is employed by H20 Plus LLC in Chicago.
Dr. Karl graduated from Warren John F. Kennedy High School in 1998 and completed his undergraduate studies at John Carroll University in Cleveland, receiving his bachelor of science degree and graduating in 2002. His doctor of chiropractic degree was earned at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Mo., in 2005. He is in practice at Performance Chiropractic Center in Chicago.
Following a honeymoon to Maui, Hawaii, the couple resides in Chicago.
