NILES AMWELD RETIREES meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. the second Wednesday of every month at Atmosphere Cafe, 815 Youngstown Road, Niles.

HOWLAND SCHOOLS RETIREES will meet at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday for the Christmas luncheon at Enzo's.

The Howland High School Choir program of holiday music will be at 10:45 a.m. Lunch, payable when orders are taken after the performance, is $10 with a choice of three to four entrees.

Those attending are asked to bring donations of nonperishable food, new winter gloves and hats and school supplies to go to Beatitude House.

All Howland Schools retired personnel, their spouses and guests are welcome to attend the meeting. For information, call Mary at 330-856-5226.

St. Joseph Health Center's volunteer department is sponsoring a program of information, enlightenment and fun for those 55 and older at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 14 in the hospital's second floor classrooms. The meeting will be a Christmas party with entertainment, games, dinner and door prizes.

Cost of the program is $4, which includes dinner and door prizes. To make a reservation, call 330-841-4375 or 330-841-4376 by Dec. 10.

GM LORDSTOWN SALARIED RETIREES CLUB next dinner meeting will be Wednesday at the Fifth Season Banquet Hall on state Route 46 in Mineral Ridge. A social welcome will begin at 5:30 p.m., with a buffet dinner at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $20 per person.

PERI monthly meeting will be held Dec. 16 at DiLucia's Restaurant in Warren. This will be the annual Christmas Party. Reservations are required by Dec. 12 and can be made by calling Sally at 330-898-1585, Barbara at 330-372-2603 or Fran at 330-652-1867.

The AUSTINTOWN SENIOR CENTER, 100 West-chester Drive, will offer several new activities and services starting in December.

Celtic Healthcare will provide free blood pressure checks every Monday at the center from 10 a.m. to noon.

Yoga, line dance and walking exercise classes are now forming. Seniors can sign up at the center.

Today at noon, Dorothy Barto will talk about Alzheimer's disease and local support groups and resources available to help.

Carole Moore, Mahoning County coordinator for the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP), will counsel seniors on Medicare insurance options from 9 to 11 a.m. Mondays. Seniors can visit the center beforehand to sign up for no-cost appointments.

A day trip is planned for Wednesday by van from the senior center to White House Fruit Farm, an art museum and the Hartville Kitchen. Space is limited to 13 passengers, and those interested must sign up at the center.

HOME INSTEAD SENIOR CARE is teaming up with nonprofit agencies and area retailers to sponsor Be a Santa to a Senior - a program that collects, wraps and delivers gifts to lonely and needy seniors in the Youngstown / Boardman area. The program runs through Monday.

Upcoming dates include Dec. 9, community gift-wrapping party, to which the general public is invited to help; and Dec. 13 to 17, delivery of gifts to seniors in the community.

Ward Center Presbyterian Church, 490 Lucy St., Masury, will serve FREE LUNCHES for senior citizens 60 and older from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the third and fourth Wednesdays of each month.

Former VAN HUFFEL AND VANEX TUBE EMPLOYEES meet at 8 a.m. Fridays at Wayside Restaurant, 825 State Road N.W., Champion. For more information, call Jim Franklin at 330-856-4231.

McDONALD SENIOR CITIZENS will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday with a Christmas trivia game at Woodland United Methodist Church off Ohio Avenue.

The TRUMBULL COUNTY NUTRITION PROGRAM FOR THE ELDERLY is provided by the Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs and operates nutrition sites at 10 locations throughout Trumbull County. These sites provide a meal and the opportunity for socialization. Donations will be accepted.

Any senior citizen 60 and older and spouses of those 60 and older are welcome for lunch at any of the following sites:

l Cortview Village, 100 Cortview Drive, Cortland, noon Thursday and Friday

l Girard Multi-Generational Center, 443 Trumbull Ave., Girard, 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

l Hubbard Senior Center, 220 W. Liberty St., Hubbard, 4 p.m. Monday through Friday

WEDNESDAY: Chicken quarter, rice pilaf, broccoli, applesauce, rye bread, grape juice

THURSDAY: Hamburger, cheesy mashed potatoes, green beans, Mandarin oranges

DEC. 10: Cheese omelet, sausage patty, seasoned potatoes, applesauce, blueberry muffin, orange juice

FOWLER-VIENNA SENIOR CITIZENS meet every Thursday at the Fowler Community Center.

The group meets from 9:30 a.m. or later to play cards and games, celebrate birthdays and anniversaries and for a 50/50 raffle and meals. Special meals are served on the fourth Thursday of the month. Cost is $3 each.

All those 55 and older are welcome. Annual dues are $12.
