Trumbull County MetroParks and the Trumbull County Engineer's Office have installed more than 65 metropark directional road signs on various county and township roads.
Zachary Svette, project coordinator for the Trumbull Metroparks, said the signs were purchased with Trumbull Metroparks funds and installed by the county engineer's office.
He said most of the signs are in the areas nearest the three open parks in Bazetta, Champion, Newton and Warren townships, as well as the Western Reserve Greenway Trail.
''These signs will make traversing to and between our parks much easier on the local and visiting motorists alike. The hope is we draw more visitors to our parks and through that effort we can make the parks eligible for more grants and funding for the future,'' Svette said.
The Ohio Department of Transportation also installed signs on various routes nearest the most active of the MetroParks locations.
The MetroParks has more than 1,200 acres in its countywide system.
