Earl and Maxine Martin of Vienna were honored at a surprise dinner party on Oct. 24, 2010, hosted by their three children, Janet (Carl) Clark, James Martin and Dianne (Tod) Mackey, their grandchildren and friends.
Earl Martin and the former Maxine Clegg of North Jackson were married on Oct. 30, 1940.
Mr. Martin served in the Navy during World War II, then after having worked 39 years, he retired from Ohio Works Division of U.S. Steel Corp. as a foreman of the blast-furnace maintenance department.

Mrs. Martin worked 11 years as a church secretary, and also served as church organist at Corinth A.O.G. in Kinsman, as well as a classroom aide at Corinth Christian Academy, and was also a Sunday school teacher. The couple wintered in Palmetto, Fla., for several years after retirement.
They have been active members of Victory Christian Center in Coitsville for more than 25 years, where together they have served as deacons, ushers and greeters.
The couple also has seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
