The Niles McKinley High School boys soccer junior varsity and varsity consists of 24 players.
Considering 11 are needed to play the field, having just 24 means a lot of running for the Red Dragons.
Although they roster 24, two players, Justin Miller and Andy Rogers, have been on the injured reserve list due to injuries sustained early on in the season.
So the 24 is presently performing with 22.
The Red Dragons hosted Warren G Harding Sept. 13.
The junior varsity finished the first half with a 1-0 lead, goal scored by Ben Marhulik.
The second half would come to a close with a 1-1 tie, leaving the JVs with a 2-0-3 record.
The varsity would follow suit ending the first half with a 1-0 lead, goal scored by Chris Pack with an assist from C.J. Cicero.
The varsity held the Raiders off ending the match with a 1-0 final.
Champion hosted Niles McKinley Sept. 16 on yet what would be another stormy night.
The junior varsity would get a half in, with Champion scoring a goal.
The match was called, unfortunately for Niles, a loss it would have to be due to weather.
The varsity was played Tuesday at Champion. The game was not done prior to press time.
