MESA, Ariz.- John T. Santagata III, 42, passed away March 23, 2010, of natural causes.
John was born Sept. 19, 1967, in Youngstown, the son of John and Kathy Myers Santagata. He lived at home until he was 15 and then moved to Arizona with his mom and brother, Nick.
He attended Liberty Schools until he was 15, where he played football and basketball. He was also involved in Little League baseball.
John loved sports, especially baseball and football, and helped win many games throughout the years. He played college ball for one year at Mesa Community College, where he graduated with an associate's degree.
Mr. Santagata was a licensed contractor and owner of 1st Class Construction company.
He was very active in church activities and volunteering, loved his old Corvette, and was especially fond of his children. He had many friends and family in the Youngstown area.
Survivors include his father, John; brother, Nick; children, Ashley Gauze, Brandon and Haley, all of Arizona; and niece, Madison (Nick's daughter).
His mother and grandparents are deceased.
A funeral service was held in March at Falconer Funeral Home in Mesa.
Memorial contributions may be made in John's name to the American Heart Association.
