Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Staats of Braceville were honored June 12 during an open house celebrating their 50th anniversary at the First Christian Church, Newton falls. The event was hosted by the couple's children, Brian (Crystal) of Streetsboro and Diana (Robert) Baker of Newton Falls. They also have four grandchildren.
Melvin and the former Myrna Pickens were married June 17, 1960, at First Christian Church by the Rev. William Kerr.
Mr. Staats was an administrative educator and retired in 1989 from LaBrae Local Schools.
