NILES - Jane Louise Bowser, 73, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at Hospice House in Poland.
She was born Jan. 25, 1937, in Liberty, a daughter of Jacob Earl and Millie Jane Sipes Bowser.
She was a graduate of Liberty High School, Felt and Terrant Comptometer School and Trumbull Business College. She worked at A&P Tea Co. and Loblaws Inc. as a comptometer operator. She also worked at Gallies Hallmark Shop and as a hostess at the Town Hall Tavern.
She is survived by two sons, William B. (Sandra) Ross III and Kenneth Robert (Mary Ellen) Ross, both of McDonald; twin daughters, Christine Renee Ross of Cortland and Cynthia Jane (Charles) Chapman of Huron; a sister, Doris Ann Brown of Girard; six grandchildren, Kenny, Victoria, Kamryn, Cade, Thomas and Mandy; and many nieces and grand-nieces and nephews and grand-nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, James Earl, Russell Carl, Donald Charles, Kenneth Robert and Glen Raymond Bowser; and three sisters, Mildred Olean Simons, Edith Eleanor Knechtle Jenkins and Freda Marie Lozner.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at McClurkin Funeral Home in Girard.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 490 N. High St., Cortland, with calling hours from 10 to 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, material contributions may be made to Hospice House. Donations will be accepted at the funeral home or church during calling hours.
