Barbara Brummer 1938-2010

WARREN - Barbara Brummer, 71, of Warren, went peacefully to be with her loving husband on Sunday morning, Feb. 7, 2010, at St. Joseph Health Center after an extended illness.

She was born July 26, 1938, in Warren, the daughter of the late Russel and Clarice Chaney Kozak.

Barbara retired from food service and was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church.

She was an avid fan of the Steelers and Warren Raiders. She enjoyed family gatherings, bingo, playing cards with her grandchildren and friends, and dancing.

She is survived by five children, Karen (Dan) Osborne, Debbie Brummer, Carla (Tim) Hodgkinson, Patty Brummer and Tony (Cathy) Brush, all of Warren; six grandchildren, Dana, Richard, Nick (Michelle), Kris (Tina), Karl and Melissa (Matt); four great-grandchildren, Masen, Kiley, James and Anthony; five brothers, Paul (Shirley), Joe (Rhonda), Rusty, Greg (Sharon) and Charlie (Heidi) Kozak, all of Warren; and two sisters, Connie Hansford and Clarice Baca of Colorado.

She was preceded in death in 1999 by her husband, Heinz Brummer, whom she married Dec. 28, 1956; by her parents; and by a brother, Jeff Kozak.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel. Pastor Karen Huff will conduct a funeral service on at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

According to Barbara's wishes, cremation will take place following the funeral service.

Barbara's family has suggested that material contributions be made in her memory to the Center for Dialysis Care of Warren at 1950 Niles Cortland Road N.E., Warren, Ohio 44484.
