Sloan has career high as Rockets winJanuary 26, 2010 - Tribune ChronicleMECCA - Melissa Sloan scored a career-high 29 points to lead Maplewood in a 44-29 rout of Northeastern Athletic Conference-foe Bristol. Sloan scored 18 of her 29 points in the first half, when the Rockets took a 30-10 lead. She also led Maplewood (3-10, 3-5 NAC) in rebounds (seven) and assists (3). The Rockets held Bristol to two points in the first quarter. Maplewood hosts Ledgemont on Thursday. Bristol (2-11, 1-7 NAC) was led by Kasey Jones' 15 points.
Braxton scored a game-high 20 points, while Hill added 18. The Falcons (4-10) led 35-6 at the half. Katelyn Woodford led the Dragons (0-14) with six points.
Hubbard improves to 8-7, 3-0 AAC White, while Struthers drops to 11-4, 3-1. Allie DeLuco and Paige Seech each had 15 points, while Kelly Bullock added 14. Bullock had 11 of her 14 as the Eagles pulled away in the second half. Dana Mathews led all scorers and Struthers with 20 points, while Katelyn Ardale had 17.
Irene Coy added 12 for Columbiana (7-8, 3-6 ITCL Upper). Lacie Graham led Mineral Ridge (5-9, 1-8) with 14 points, while Megan Ben added 10.
Southington jumped to a 10-3 lead in the first quarter, but Lordstown rallied and only trailed by one at halftime. The score remained tight in the third but Southington pulled away with a 21-17 fourth-quarter advantage. Along with Barco's 22 points, Miranda Gallo pitched in eight points and a team-high 12 rebounds. Southington improves to 9-6 (4-0). Lordstown was led by Kelsey Wickline's 19 points. Lindsey Harrison added 11.
Kennedy had the three-point edge after the first quarter, but by halftime extended its lead to nine. Along with McBride and Bucci, Kelsie Massacci added 10 points for the Eagles (7-7). Youngstown Christian (5-8) was paced by Sara Bell's nine points.
McDonald only led the Bears, 8-6, after the first quarter, before registering the big second, giving the Blue Devils the 25-13 edge going into the locker room. Joh'Vonnie Mosley paced the Blue Devils (9-4, 7-2) with 19 points. Taylor Stanley added 10.
The score was tied at 41 after the third quarter, then the Redskins outscored Grand Valley, 16-4, in the fourth. Emily McClone paced Ledgemont with 16 points. Alyssa Smychynsky added 10. For Grand Valley, Bailey Holmes led the team with 16 points and six rebounds. The Mustangs are now 0-13. |
