NEW MIDDLETOWN - Richard L. Bensky, 68, of New Middletown, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 23, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Richard was born June 16, 1941, in Dora, Pa., the son of George and Helen Hinderliter Bensky.
He was a lifelong area resident and worked as an operating engineer for Local 66, and retired in 2000.
He was also in the Army during the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on old cars.
Richard leaves his wife, the former Marlene Felix, whom he married in 1961; three daughters, Terri (Marty) Bartell of New Lenox, Ill., Sherri (Dana) Byers of North Lima and Tammi Sawyer of Mogadore, Ohio; one brother, Alan Bensky of Warren; one sister, Ilene Felger of Poland; and three grandchildren, Kevin, Jenna and Grant.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Monday at the Clemente Funeral Home in New Middletown. There will be no calling hours.
