William A. Eckart 1952-2009December 24, 2009BURGHILL - William A. Eckart, 57, passed away Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, following a hunting accident at his residence. Bill was born Feb. 24, 1952, in Meadville, Pa., a son of Vincent P. and Mattie Langley Eckart. He was a laborer at Murphy Contracting in Youngstown. He had previously worked at Leeds Inc. as a maintenance supervisor. He was also the zoning inspector for Hartford. He enjoyed hunting and any activities that involved working with his hands. His wife, Loretta Mercer Eckart, whom he married Oct. 31, 1970, preceded him in death on Sept. 5, 1997. Bill was survived by two daughters, Anissa (Matthew) Henderson of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Brienne (Liam) McLoughlin of Glouster, England; his mother, Mattie Eckart of Burghill; three sisters, Marilyn Warren of Skandia, Mich., Margaret Belcher of Durham, N.C., and Martha Blair of Guam; one brother, Ernest Eckart of Burghill; and his companion, Sylvia Manchi of Burghill. He was also preceded in death by his father and a brother, Paul Eckart. A time of gathering will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 state Route 7, Hartford. The family requests that people attending the service dress casually and bring a story to share about Bill. (special notice, changes made) |
