Laurel Heflin 1954-2009

ALLIANCE - Laurel "Lolly" Heflin, 55, of Alliance, passed away 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at her residence with her family at her side.

Laurel was born May 27, 1954, in Warren, a loving daughter of James A. Chipps Sr. and Vernetta (Barnard) Chipps.

"Lolly" resided in the Alliance area for 15 years and was formerly of Newton Falls.

She was a 1972 graduate of Southeast High School. On July 27, 1972, in Maryland, Willis Heflin and Laurel Chipps were united in marriage. "Lolly" was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Cherished memories of "Lolly" will be carried on by her mother of Warren; husband, Willis, of Alliance; son Mark (Hope) Heflin of Germantown, Md.; brother Patrick (Brenda) Chipps of Newton Falls; sisters, Vernetta Murphy of Warren, Bonnie (George) Bozovich of Englewood and Cindy (Dick Wesley) Chipps of Lorton, Va.; grandchild Caden Heflin of Germantown, Md.; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and good friends Deb and Don Main.

Preceding her in death were her father; brother, James A. "Chick" Chipps Jr.; half-brother Michael Bright and brother-in-law Michael Murphy.

Friends may call Saturday at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., where services will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Arnold Edmondson officiating. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery.

The family requests donations be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network; 2141 Rosecrans Ave.; Suite 7000, El Segundo, Calif. 90245, or to the American Diabetes Assoc., 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria, Va. 22311.
