People can help play Santa Claus this year to area needy children by dropping off a NEW TOY at Shepherd of the Valley Home Health, 5525 Silica Road, Austintown. All donations will go to the Big Reach Center of Hope for children up to age 15. Donations of new, unwrapped toys are due by Wednesday. The Salvation Army's CHRISTMAS TOY SHOP will be located this holiday season at the Austintown Plaza, 6000 Mahoning Ave., behind the Buffalo Wild Wings.
A BREAKFAST WITH SANTA will be held at 9 a.m. Dec. 5 at Kennedy Catholic High School cafeteria, 2120 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, Pa. Cost is $5 for adults and $4 for children. Reservations are required by Tuesday and can be made by calling 724-346-5531.
The Lakeview High School Madrigal and Advanced Women's Choir will hold the 26th annual MADRIGAL FEAST AND CONCERT at 7 p.m. Dec. 4 and 5 and at 5 p.m. Dec. 6 at the high school. The event will include a castle hall with candlelight, food and musicians in period costumes. Cost is $20 per person with advanced registration required. Impressions Hair Studio in Warren will hold a FOOD DRIVE for Second Harvest Food Bank from Tuesday to Dec. 23. Guests of the studio are asked to donate two non-perishable food items for a chance to win a basket full of beauty products valued over $150.
PET PICTURES WITH SANTA will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 12 at the Dog Depot, 8026 E. Market St., Howland, sponsored by the Lordstown Leo's Club. Any animal adoption at the Animal Welfare League by Dec. 12 will receive $5 off the photo.
The Trumbull Art Gallery is offering ART CLASSES for children and teenagers for the holidays. Scheduled are Christmas advent calendars from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday for ages 8 and older, hand-painted custom Christmas cards from noon to 2 p.m. Dec. 5 for ages 10 and older and calligraphy from noon to 1 p.m. Dec. 12 for ages 10 and older. Cost for each class is $15.
The Arms Family Museum, 648 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will hold a HOLIDAY IN MOTION from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 5 and 1 to 5 p.m. Dec. 6. Seven period rooms are decorated in different themes including a room decorated with a running vintage Lionel train, a 1940s Fontanni nativity set, hundreds of Santas and ornaments. Admission is $1.
