10:11 a.m.: Six locations raided in Warren
Three taken into custody at diner across from high schoolWARREN - Police from several agencies are conducting a series of drug raids in Warren. Officers are raiding six locations on the southeast and southwest sides including an apartment above Mi Mi Mi's Diner on Elm Road, across from Warren G. Harding High School. Agencies involved include Trumbull County Sheriff Department, Warren police, and the TAG Law Enforcement Task Force. At least three people were taken into custody at the diner.
Trumbull County Sheriff Thomas Altiere said the homes being targeted sell heroin, and some of the people involved in the operations are from the Detroit area.
The owner of Mi Mi Mi's spoke to reporters and stressed that the diner is not under investigation. He is concerned with public scrutiny because of the activity in the apartment above the diner.
More details will be forthcoming.

Parrotslove, probably right about the cookie jar. I have been saying for years, long before the boarded up houses; if I know where to find crack (and don't do it), so do the cops.

Wow, appears that some people don't care that a drug house was directly across from a high school. LT, you are an ass#hole. No wonder why our young people have no respect.

It's amazing how quickly Warren has taken a turn for the worst. I have lived here most of my life. I left Warren back in '02 and returned in '08 to find that this lifeless, disgusting slum of a city. In that period of time we have lost a quarter of our population. It doesn't stop there, though...we have also lost most of our jobs, businesses, and recreation. It makes sense now why the police force has to step up and do something about drug dealers. It's the drug dealers who are giving this city a bad name. Without them, there wouldn't be many addicts. Without addicts, there would be less crime and poverty, without crime and poverty, more jobs would be open to the public. It would be a great day for Warren City if and when we can accomplish that feat.

I no longer live in Warren but when I did I lived on West Market and there was drugs right next door, when i lived on Kenwood there was too many drugs, mostly every other house i think was a drug house. Drugs are everywhere in Warren City and the police department i think are doing a great job to get these drugs off the streets and away from reach of our kids. it takes time to get all these houses raided and i hope and pray for the sake of our kids that The Warren City Police department continues on doing a good job!!

Isn't it amazing that drunks and addicts can get on Medicaid but a person, who many times holds down 2 jobs just to survive, can't get squat from the system. What a great liberal society we live in. Does anyone remember here in Trumbull Cty. The metro housing authority only permitted elderly residents? Call them up and ask them who lives there NOW.

What is hurting Warren is all the low income apartments we have here in WARREN. When you have to have POLICE and SECURITY patrol the apartments than they are bad. Time for Warren to close these apartment complexes up, tear them down, or turn them over to people who actually care about their apartment complex.

I'm wondering, i suppose the last regime of Chief Mangoofsalot, had no clue this drug activity was going on? Its amazing how much progress can be made when real law enforcement is actuated in the community. So many have not been heard when it comes to the negligence concerning the drug problem in this area. way to go TAG!

Most polite police raid I've ever witnessed. They surrounded the house with vehicles and SWAT guys wearing camo and holding machine guns... then proceeded to yell over a megaphone to come out of the house. Must have stood outside for a couple minutes yelling into the house. Just enough time to flush all the dope down the toilet.

it was the 12:o2 remark. the paper said raid took place at 9-3 right? you wrote what happened to the good ole days when the raids happened at 1 am. was poinbting out it was at those exact times. you said it not me. and stop taking things so personal.*****be glad the busts are happeneing not what you are picking out of a sentence. chill , i am on the good side here this is what you wrote. just didn't make sense thats all. raid took place between 9-3 am right? then you wrote ''' TomSmith 11-25-09 12:02 PM »Report Abuse Awful strange time of the day to be raiding drug houses. What happened to the good old days when we did it at 1 am and then was able to catch a lot more people in on the action. Perhaps we don't want to catch the folks buying it due to who may get caught up in the raid. Hmm ''' end of quote. geez i am just glad they are cleaning up the town. my grandson goes to that school across the street from there . get happy instead of finding fault in what i said .

All of our raids took place while the activity was hopping, 9pm - 3am. We used to take out many Strawberry's of those houses. One of them even being closely related to a judge. No point in raiding the place when everyone is a sleep and they just sold out their stash the night before. We all know those people don't wake up before noon to resupply. Sure, it's much safer raiding these places in the light and while they are sleeping, but far less productive.

Warren City, there are several houses all over Warren that need to be raided and I am sure our police force is aware of all of the locations, my question, why aren't all of these houses an or locations shut down and destroyed. Why does it take yrs to get enough evidence on these thugs before anything can be done? I am frustrated that some locations can continue to operate and nothing is ever done, the citizens complain and do what the police tell us to do, document, call them when we see illegal activities going on, but yet, nothing ever happens...Good job for raiding these 6 locations and hopefully the many others out there will be next
