Thomas R. Johnson 1954-2009

QUAKERTOWN, Pa. - Thomas R. Johnson, 55, Quakertown, Pa., formerly of Niles, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Venice Regional Medical Center, Venice, Fla.

He was born May 28, 1954, in Warren, the son of Irvin and Pearl Ring Johnson.

He was a 1972 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and a graduate of ITT Technical School with an associate's degree in computers.

He was employed as a business systems analyst for ATD American Co., Wyncote, Pa., for five years.

He was a member of First Christian Church, Niles, where he was past youth group leader, past president of the Niles McKinley Marching Band Boosters, coach for Odyssey of the Mind for gifted students, and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Lori Young Johnson, whom he married June 18, 1994; two sons, David Johnson of Niles and attorney Patrick Mancinetti of Dayton; two daughters, Melissa Karr of Niles and Julie Mancinetti of Quakertown, Pa.; two brothers, Ed Johnson of Bazetta and Tim Johnson and his wife, Martha, of Niles; three sisters, Charlotte Szereto of Novelty, Jennifer Titus and her husband, Bob, of Austintown and Jill Gardlock and her husband, Terry, of Niles; and three grandchildren, Emily and Ethan Karr and Madison Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ted Johnson.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home, Niles. Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Cynthia Klingemier officiating at the funeral home.
